FFC loves RIC, we are RIC!

We are Farm Fresh Choice family, teens and 3 adult coordinators, a program of the Ecology Center Berkeley, dedicated to advancing Food Justice, healing, and empowerment for our communities of color.  RIC allows us to build strong relationships with a national family of dedicated teen leaders and mentors.  We are inspired to see and feel that we are a part of a national food justice movement that is growing big time!  We are grateful to the organizers and coordinators of RIC that know how important it is to unite us for education exchange, sharing inspiration, and enjoying new relationships with amazing people.  We would like to know more about the member organizations and how we can work together even if we are spread out through the country.  Many of us don’t get to travel out of town so it’s very cool to get to go far away and share the different flavors of youth culture.   We also get a taste of college dorm life, which makes us imagine life after high school.  Those who get to attend RIC are fortunate and we hope that youth become more inspired to take action for big change in America.

What we’re up to these days:

Operating our community produce stands sourced by local farmers of color, facilitating workshops on wellness through nutrition empowerment and protecting ourselves from greedy industrial food companies, and inspiring taste buds with fresh spring fruit.

Let’s keep connected, facebook links on the web www.ecologycenter.org/ffc
