SAVE THE DATE: Rooted In Community Conference 2008!!!
The Rooted in Community National Conference is back for the 10th year!! The RIC Conference is an opportunity for young people involved in agriculture and food justice to lead workshops and learn from others doing similar work across the country.
This engaging youth leadership opportunity will take place in the San Francisco Bay Area where adults and youth from around the country gather for fun workshops, field trips and community building activities.
We are reaching out to youth leadership organizations and groups that have attended RIC in the past. We think you will be interested to learn about the upcoming conference.
Please be sure to reserve these dates: July 23 to July 27, 2008.
We encourage you to begin to brainstorm about fundraising opportunities to make sure your organization can bring youth to participate, to engage in workshop development and have fun as they learn more about the strength of their voices in issues important to their communities.
Look for more information in May regarding registration, travel information, accommodations, programming schedule and conference fees (to be determined, but slightly increase from last year's fees of $150 for youth and $200 for adults).
For more information about RIC, please browse our website (www.rootedincommunity.org). We encourage you to add or update your organization's information information by sending that information to us at info@rootedincommunity.org.
Please send us an email if you and your organization plan to attend. You can send a note to info@rootedincommunity.org.
Let us know how many youth and adults you plan to bring. Each organization should plan to bring one adult for every three youth.
