The California Conference Planning Team is very pleased to announce that registration for RIC’s 10th Annual Conference is now open!!  You can find the complete registration packet by following the link on this page.  If you are a member of the Rooted in Community listserv, you can also find the packet on the Shared Documents page.  (To join the list serve, send an email to ric-subscribe@lists.riseup.net.)

Here is the basic information:

The 10th Annual Conference will take will take place July 23-27 in the San Francisco Bay Area.  RIC has deep roots in the Bay Area, and we will celebrate the contributions of several of the people and organizations that started RIC.  The San Francisco Bay Area is home to many innovative, creative food and environmental justice organizations and extraordinary groups of youth and adults working together to achieve food justice.

We will visit many of these organizations during the conference with great field trips and a wide range of learning and leadership development experiences.  The conference agenda framework is included in your registration packet.  We will stay in the dorms at the University of California at Berkeley.

We anticipate and we are planning for 200 youth and adults to attend this year.  Please register early to make sure that your group can attend and if you can’t register right away let us know about your plans so we can keep track of your plans.

This year we are pleased to offer an early registration fee of $150 for youth and $200 for adults.  We are making this fee available through June 9, so please consider registering during this early registration period.  After June 9 the fee will go up to $200 for youth and $250 for adults, through July 1.  After July 1 the late registration fee will be $250 for youth and $300 for adults.

The generous support we receive from our sponsors, including the Jesse Smith Noyes Foundation, and Heifer International, allows us to provide everyone who attends with a scholarship valued almost $200.

We look forward to seeing you in July!!
